Abstract
Team-based care has been associated with improved healthcare outcomes, and interprofessional education (IPE) is a pathway to team collaboration. Validated assessment tools are needed to evaluate students and IPE curricula. A brief validated observer-based scale would help preceptors evaluate students.
The modified McMaster-Ottawa scale (Table 1) is a 7-item competency-based scale for rating individual and team behaviors in a Team Objective Structured Clinical Encounter (TOSCE).
