About
Dr. Scott Waltz is a Professor of the Social Foundations of Education with a Ph.D. from the State University of New York, with a concentration in the intersection of Society and Technology as it plays out in Educational contexts. Dr. Waltz has been a faculty member at CSUMB since 2004, and has formerly been an interpretive naturalist, a health educator, a Middle and Elementary School substitute teacher, and a High School Language Arts Teacher (having held a teaching certification in the State of Wisconsin). His research area has been largely theoretical in nature and has revolved around Actor-Network Theory. Dr. Waltz is also a cofounder, alongside CSUMB's own Dr. Fred Watson, of the Fort Ord Regional Trail and Greenway, a 28 mile trail with circuits that connect the ocean to the Fort Ord National Monument interior.
