About
Sam Ogden is currently an Assistant Professor at CSUMB where he began in August 2022. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science (thesis title: MiseEnPlace: Fine- and Coarse-Grained Approaches for Mobile-Oriented Deep Learning Inference) from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in June 2022 under the supervision of Dr. Tian Guo. Prior to that he worked as a Product Engineer at IBM and GlobalFoundries and earned degrees in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science from the University of Vermont. His research focuses on how to bridge the gap between mobile devices and the cloud, particularly with respect to machine learning for mobile devices.
