    Dr. Chou is currently a Professor of Accounting in the College of Business at California State University, Monterey Bay. He has taught BUS 301 Principles of Business Analytics, BUS 684 Accounting for Managers, BUS 299 Business Analytics Fundamentals, BUS 482 Auditing, BUS 383 Intermediate Accounting I and BUS 384 Intermediate Accounting II in COB. He received his Doctorate degree from National Cheng-Chi University in Taiwan. He has unique academic preparations in both computer science and accounting. He has been leading research projects with co-authors, develop new courses with colleagues, and explore possible collaborations with professionals locally and internationally. Leveraging on his academic preparation, he has expanded the Accounting Information Systems (AIS) area to include Deep Learning, Large Language Models, Machine Learning with Python, Blockchain, Data Analytics using Python, Business Process Automation, eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL), and Continuous Reporting/Auditing. As results of time and efforts invested at CSUMB, he has published five top-tier peer-reviewed academic articles in the past five years, including Computers & Industrial Engineering, Journal of Information Systems, International Journal of Accounting Information Systems, Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting. All five articles are ranked by the most recent ABDC (Australian Business Deans Council) Journal Quality List, where four articles ranked as A journals.
     
    In 2023, he was invited by Senior Editors of the Journal of Information Systems (JIS) (an A-level American Accounting Association journal) to serve on the Editorial (Review) Board of JIS for the period 2023–2025. In 2024, he was also invited to serve as the Domain Editor of Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting. The editorship invitation from both the JIS and the JETA not only validates his research ability but also vouches his academic standings among academicians in the AIS field. Back in 2019 and 2020, he was invited by the Journal of Information Systems (JIS) to serve as one of two Guest Editors for a special issue on Blockchain. He was recently invited to guest edit a special issue on "The Impact of AI/Chat GPT on Accounting and Auditing" for the International Journal of Services and Standards (IJSS) in 2023 and 2024. While fulfilling his editorship assignments, he has reviewed more than 60 research manuscripts in the past five years.
